Mythlogically Bedini is supposed to be the borderline segregating the 'Abode of Gods' and human land. 'Bedini' means the entry gate to the abode of the Goddess Nanda Devi. Pindari Glacier owes its existence to the vast quantities of snow precipitated from Nanda Devi and other lofty summits of the great Himalayan range. It takes its name from Pindari River, which originates in the Trail's Pass above the glacier.
At the foot of the Pindari Glacier stands the Chiltha Summit, its serene environ is ideal for meditation. The glacier commands a spectacular view of the Himalayan ranges.

Day One | WOODSVILLA - KUKUCHEENA Kukucheena is a small village at the road head. Pandukholi is a mountaintop at the height of 2546 mts. It commands a majestic view of the Himalayan Range and provides beautiful camping place with natural Rock Climbing area. The trek up to Pandukholi is a thick forest of Oak, Rhododendron and Cyprus. Trek up to Kukucheena takes about 100 - 120 minutes for an average trekker. KUKUCHEENA - PANDAVKHOLI Lunch at the camp. Camp building and tent pitching in the evening. Bon-fire and stay in Tents/Camp Huts. |
Day Two | Watch SUNRISE over the Himalayas from the 50 feet tall watchtower ROCK CLIMBING & RAPPELLING (after break fast) at the natural and picturesque rock climbing sites at the mountaintop. Wind-up Camp after lunch and trek down to the road head at Kukucheena. PANDAVKHOLI - KUKUCHEENA 5 kilometres drive by road to the famous Dunagirir Temple of Goddess Durga. Legend has it that the temple is from the Ramayana. 365 stairs take the travellers up to the temple of the Goddess. 19 kilometres drive to the Katyuri Temple at Dwarahat a place of great archaeological significance. Drive back to the Resort. Reach Woodsvilla by the evening. |
